Back in Blighty...

Greetings,

I am back in England and it is going to take a bit of time to get my things even relatively in order afore I start doing anything gaming-related. I'm hopefully going to be able to nip to my local GW (GW Grimsby) and get some paints and glue.

My Tyranids will hopefully be all brought out so that I can do a family photo of them all, once I have a bit of time to myself sometime this week. No promises as I have a mess of work to do though.

Sidetracked....

Greetings,

I was intending to do more painting last night/this morning, but a combination of 8th edition of Warhammer being up for pre-order and the rumour mill being discredited or shocked I didn't pick up a brush.

I re-filled my water pot though....

Does that count?

Painting update... Ummm... Yeah... They are Lizardmen really...

Greetings,

I didn't feel upto painting a mass of scales so I decided to mess about with a few models that have recently become mine.

Khador Manhunter.

Took about 2 hours with him. I got this guy off of one of my Korean friends for 5000 won. The only issue with it is I don't like the basing material he put on it. It is ugly as sin in my eyes.
I'm impressed by how the muscles have turned out on him. But I know I over did it a bit...

Escaping Rogue Ex-Imperial Pilot formerly attached
to the Emerald Tears purloining an 8-pack of booze.

I was given this guy by one of my Korean friends as payment for me pinning a few of his models. A simple colour scheme all things considered. The smock has the same orange scheme as I did on my Khador Jacks. The armour was the vibrant red. The pants, Deneb and Devlan. Nothing too complex, but he should fit in with most of the Emerald Tears even considering his dubious origins...

A busy week ahead...

Greetings,

Now I know that I have been a bit lapse in putting up posts recently. Especially considering how I started off. There are a few main reasons for this. Primarily I have had my contract extended twice due to my company going slightly nuts and my replacement teacher deciding not to take the job he applied for.

Well this week I have managed to do 37 Skink skirmishers, 3 Skink characters, touched up another Skink and painted a Saurus hero. Today I managed to base all of the Skinks while I was at Orctown abusing a freind who was painting up some EmoElves (High Elves painted with red skirts, blue trim and dark steel mail) after he gave up on painting white.

While I am back in England I am lending my Lizardmen to one of my friends. He hasn't got a fantasy army and with 8th Edition being released soon he wants to have dinosaur stompy action upon other people's armies. I'm going to be giving him the Lizardmen next weekend so I want to have the army fully painted by then. A tall order methinks, but anyway....

Here is a list of what I have left to paint and base:

Engine of the God's howdah and all 5 of the Skink crew.
2 Jungle Swarms
18 Skink weapon beast handlers
Basing for 3 Salamanders and 3 Razordons
5 Skink Skirmishers
10 Saurus Cold one rider (2 command groups and 4 riders)
10 Cold Ones
2 Cold Ones for basing

Now although this seems like a lot, I did manage to do a mess of Skinks in two days and basing them in one massive basing session today. What I will do is put a post up of what I have done every day with a photo and hopefully post a photo of them all painted up when I'm at Orctown on this coming Sunday. This is going to be rather insane, but I'd like to be able to throw down a 5000pts game with two of my own armies, since I have two armies with 6000pts, but giving a bit of variation within the lists. It should be fun to see though, especially with the rumours of 8th leading towards scenario-based battles.

Recent painting

Greetings,

I apologise for not posting a lot up recently. Truth be told the first time I picked up a paintbrush with actual paint on it was on Saturday. Since the last time was the 20th of May with my Khador, I really needed to get some more painting done. These guys were all partially done, so it's not as if I had to do all of these from scratch. But 18 Skink Skirmishers, 2 Skink Chiefs (from the Stegadon boxes) and my Cold One Saurus hero.
I still need to flock them and neaten up their base edges with black, but these are done as much as I want to do them. I'm not one for going back and dealing with mistakes if they aren't too glaring. Like I know that one of the Skinks has only a single eye painted white, the other is orange. If anyone asks he is winking lewdly at another Skink.
