Farrow: Almost completed

Greetings,

Here are the Farrow that I have at the moment. I have only got 6 more models to finish painting. This shouldn't take too long, but I have a HUUUUGE case of 'Shinyitis'.

Enjoy.

The Bacon Nation strikes again!

Greetings,

I've been painting and playing a lot of Hordes recently. Also I've been painting a lot of the piggies as well.

Fully painted piggies at the moment.

Warlocks:- Dr Arkadius, Lord Carver, Sturm and Drang
War Beasts:- 3 War Hogs (Gammon, Dry Cure and Smoked) and 3 Gun Boars (Spam, Sausages and Pork Scratchings)
Solos:- Targ, Rorsh and Brine
Units:- Brigands (English10/10, German 1/10), Bone Grinders (4/6 painted)

Models left to finish painting.
2 Razorback units(0/4), 9/10 Brigands (German), 2/6 Bone Grinders

If I get my act together I can have them all painted and based before Friday. Alas, I have reports and papers to mark for Thursday.

I also played a 35pts game yesterday against one of my Columbian friends over here. I used a Tier 4 Carver list that was fun. Another victory for me (3 wins with the pigs in 4 games) and only my second game using The great baconator himself, Carver.

I took, Carver, Targ, 2 War Hogs, Gun Boar, 2 x 6 Brigands, Rorsh and Brine.

My opponent took, Kara Sloan, Hunter, 2 x 6 Long Gunners, Long Gunner UA, Gun Mages, Gun Mage UA, Cyclone (Marshalled), Aiyana and Holt.

The game didn't go too well for me at first. I lost 5 out of six of my advance deploy Brigand unit. A mistake of the rules on my part. I thought being in a forest gave a defence boost. It didn't.

The Gun Boar managed to kill the Jack Marshall after the Cyclone had tried, and failed, to hurt Gammon and Smoked. They were pushed back but that only delayed me a turn.

Turn 3 was the last real attempt of my opponent to kill carver. Sloan managed to do 9 points of damage, what was transferred to Dry Cure. The Hunter failed to hurt Carver.

My turn 4 was a lot more decisive. CRA'd the Hunter and removed 11 boxes with the Brigands. Carver came in and removed a long gunner and did a single point of damage on the Hunter. Then feated. Dry Cure moved up behind Gammon and cast his animus. Gammon used his aggression dial then charged between the hunter and the Cyclone to try and get Sloan. Popped the Hunter after boosting to hit. Moved 1" forwards due to Carver's feat then critically knocked down Kara then stomped her into mush. I would have done more, but I forgot that Carver's feat gave extra damage dice.

Carver's not bad, but I still like Arkadius more. Then again I've played with his a lot more often. I think that having a unit of Slaughterhousers and some Road Hogs will benefit Carver more.

I'll put up more photos later in the week. Heading into Seoul to have a nose at some of the museums. I may even go and see Batman again.

Recently I've been mainly doing....

Greetings,

Not posted in a while, but I have been doing a fair amount of painting on a number of systems recently.

Hordes: Farrow

Here is the third Warlock for the Farrow, Sturm and Drang and a Warlock attachment called Targ. S&D was a lot of fun to paint. There is a hell of a lot of detail on him though. the fluid canisters on the back of him were really enjoyable to play with.  There was some annoying flash on the model though.
Targ was simple to put together, but he was a lot of fun to paint.

Warhammer 8th: Mountain Chimera for the big spell for Beasts

This beastie is available through the Lore of Beasts. It has one of the highest damage potentials in the game and I have been using the Lore of Beasts a lot recently because it turns Ogres into an even more insurmountable object than they are with the Maw spells. I painted it mainly with the new yellow and orange inks (Casandora and Fuegan respectively). I added the brown arrows to it to show that it is generated through the Transformation of Kadon spell.

Terran Empire: Subjugation Class Command Cruiser (AKA: Federation Constitution Class Command Cruiser)

This has painted for the GLORY OF THE EMPIRE! The Romulan and Klingon cowards shall quake at our might!

If you have a look at the previous posts about the Trek ships, I have managed to replicate a similar scheme through luck and chance over an easy recipe.

Blood Bowl

I have also made a brand new Vampire Blood Bowl team, but that won't make an appearance until I visit my friend's apartment on the weekend.
Speaking of Blood Bowl...
The aforementioned friend and myself have taken to playing Blood Bowl 7's on Sundays. We are using a Narrow Tier Blood Bowl lists through a Danish chap (http://www.plasmoids.dk/NTBB.pdf) who wants the Blood Bowl teams to be a bit more in line with each other.
We have made a few alterations to the rules and added some limitations to the teams. Any positional amount is halved rounding up( so lizardmen can have up to 1 Kroxigor, 3 Saurus and as many Skinks as wanted).
Rerolls are limited to 1+ tier number. i.e. Tier 0 can have 1, Tier 1 can have 2, etc...
All injuries are healed automatically, but the player must miss the next game.

I have taken Ogres, Lizardmen and Vampires. My friend has taken Dark Elves, Chaos and Goblins.

Game 1 Ogres vs Dark Elves. 1:2
Notable moments-
Ogre scoring after catching a Gnoblar pass on turn 2.
A thrown Gnoblar hitting a Dark Elf who was sitting in front of the touchline on turn 7.

Game 2 Lizardmen vs Chaos 2:1
Notable moments-
Minotaur going Wild on Turn 1 then smooshed by the Kroxigor.
Kroxigor going on a rampage for the next 5 turns, blitzing once a turn and nuking everything.
Skinks mugging a Chaos Warrior.
A Beastman winning a 2 dice my choice block.

Game 3 Vampires vs Goblins 2:0
Notable moments-
The Vampire eating one of my ball carrying Thralls before a TD.

I hope to have photos up about the BB7's next time.

Hope you like the photos.

Piggies vs Trolls

Greetings,

I had a few good games over the weekend, but I only took photos of one of them unfortunately.

My second game was the last game for one of my American friends since he is leaving Korea. He wanted to see how the piggies could do against a kind of Troll Brick. It didn't do too badly.

I had;

Mad Science Tier 1

Dr Arkadius (+6)
3 War Hogs (3 x 7)
2 Gun Boars (2 x 5)
Rorsh and Brine (9)

Total= 34

He had;

Madrak Prime (+6)
Mauler (9)
Impaler (5)
10 Kriel Warriors (6)
+ UA (2)
+3Cabers (3)
5 Champions (10)
Fell Caller Hero (3)
Champion Hero (3)

Total= 35

We were playing Killing field and afore anyone asks, I lost by scenario (7-3).  I'm not going to do a blow by blow account as it was a long game and I was totally knackered after playing.

A couple of notable things is that Brine can become a complete and utter monster. If I had used Carver he'd have been much worse. He did manage to rip apart a Mauler in two blows, after a 6 damage shot from Rorsh, which was impressive.

I had to try for a caster kill against Madrak with 2 Fury, Scroll and being completely unhurt. I managed to deal 17 damage on the first cleave, then I just couldn't do anything else to him. The Impaler took 14 damage, then he scrolled then I ran out of fury. Ho-hum.

There are more pictures of the Piggies than the Trolls for two reasons,. First off they were taken by me with my camera, secondly whenever the Trolls did anything both of us were too focussed with dealing with the situation to take photos. Hope you like the photos.
