Something hungry....

Greetings,

I have been doing a lot of work on my Ogres recently as I felt like I needed a change to my recent spate of painting. The Cookie Ogres are coming along nicely. More photos should follow before next week.

Comments are welcome.

Recently I've been mainly doing....

Greetings,

Not posted in a while, but I have been doing a fair amount of painting on a number of systems recently.

Hordes: Farrow

Here is the third Warlock for the Farrow, Sturm and Drang and a Warlock attachment called Targ. S&D was a lot of fun to paint. There is a hell of a lot of detail on him though. the fluid canisters on the back of him were really enjoyable to play with.  There was some annoying flash on the model though.
Targ was simple to put together, but he was a lot of fun to paint.

Warhammer 8th: Mountain Chimera for the big spell for Beasts

This beastie is available through the Lore of Beasts. It has one of the highest damage potentials in the game and I have been using the Lore of Beasts a lot recently because it turns Ogres into an even more insurmountable object than they are with the Maw spells. I painted it mainly with the new yellow and orange inks (Casandora and Fuegan respectively). I added the brown arrows to it to show that it is generated through the Transformation of Kadon spell.

Terran Empire: Subjugation Class Command Cruiser (AKA: Federation Constitution Class Command Cruiser)

This has painted for the GLORY OF THE EMPIRE! The Romulan and Klingon cowards shall quake at our might!

If you have a look at the previous posts about the Trek ships, I have managed to replicate a similar scheme through luck and chance over an easy recipe.

Blood Bowl

I have also made a brand new Vampire Blood Bowl team, but that won't make an appearance until I visit my friend's apartment on the weekend.
Speaking of Blood Bowl...
The aforementioned friend and myself have taken to playing Blood Bowl 7's on Sundays. We are using a Narrow Tier Blood Bowl lists through a Danish chap (http://www.plasmoids.dk/NTBB.pdf) who wants the Blood Bowl teams to be a bit more in line with each other.
We have made a few alterations to the rules and added some limitations to the teams. Any positional amount is halved rounding up( so lizardmen can have up to 1 Kroxigor, 3 Saurus and as many Skinks as wanted).
Rerolls are limited to 1+ tier number. i.e. Tier 0 can have 1, Tier 1 can have 2, etc...
All injuries are healed automatically, but the player must miss the next game.

I have taken Ogres, Lizardmen and Vampires. My friend has taken Dark Elves, Chaos and Goblins.

Game 1 Ogres vs Dark Elves. 1:2
Notable moments-
Ogre scoring after catching a Gnoblar pass on turn 2.
A thrown Gnoblar hitting a Dark Elf who was sitting in front of the touchline on turn 7.

Game 2 Lizardmen vs Chaos 2:1
Notable moments-
Minotaur going Wild on Turn 1 then smooshed by the Kroxigor.
Kroxigor going on a rampage for the next 5 turns, blitzing once a turn and nuking everything.
Skinks mugging a Chaos Warrior.
A Beastman winning a 2 dice my choice block.

Game 3 Vampires vs Goblins 2:0
Notable moments-
The Vampire eating one of my ball carrying Thralls before a TD.

I hope to have photos up about the BB7's next time.

Hope you like the photos.

I'm feeling a lil' bit hungry....

Greetings,

Here is a more or less current cookie themed Ogre army that is about 98% painted/ finished. It also includes some recent photos of 'Something hungry this way comes....' or my Skrag scratch-build. He's still not finished and I have to put the Muppetlars (I have decided upon that as a name for the Muppet-Gnoblar hybrids) upon him. I'm thinking of doing a Beaker and Bunsen heads for them. Beaker will be a fun one to do, Bunsen will take more effort.
I've also managed to finish the musicians, more or less, for the Leadbelchers. I now have Gonzo the Great (wearing the helmet and blue), a baby Animal (kinda) and either a relation of Kermit, since Kermit is already hiding on a base.

Hope you guys like them.

WOMAN!!! WOMAN!!! WOMAN!!!

Greetings,

Here is my current project for my Ogres.

My Inspiration.

The project becoming realised.

The first one so far.

Number two...

Number three...

The process isn't that difficult, it just takes a bit of time and effort.

I will hopefully be able to figure out how to do the dreadlocks before the weekend.

FOLLOW THE COOKIE!!!

Greetings,

This post has been a long time in coming, and I apologise for that. Here is some more work on the Cookiehorn and 'Something Hungry This Way Comes...'

Cookiehorn

I've not done much to this model to be honest. I have drybrushed the cookie horns with Dark Flesh (GW) so it fits with the other cookies in my Ogre force. I also added a Baal Red (GW) wash over the flesh coloured bits so it looks like freshly caused damage to the Cookiehorn's flanks. I went over the shields with Badab Black (GW) to give them a bit more definition. I will be adding a brass or bronze to the raised patterns to give it a bit more colour.
I smellz cookiez on you! WHERE IZ DA COOKIEZ???!!!???

WHERE IZ DA COOKIEZ? Over here? Nope...

Over here? Grrr.....

...cookie...? sniff

Something Hungry This Way Comes....

Something Hungry This Way Comes. This guy has been so much fun to do and to annoying at the same time. He is enormous. I mean he towers over the plastic Ogres and he is bigger than the recent character models.
His right arm has been done over the past day. It does have the lack of definition that Cookie Monster has, but I will be poking around with the GS a little bit later when the Green Stuff has hardened a bit more.
The Gnoblar on his head is waving a cookie in his field of vision goading him towards the enemy. He also stops the big ol' monster turning round and tucking into the big stash of cookies behind him.
The Gnoblar on the bowl is going to have a cask of milk pouring it on the cookies.

 COOKIE COOKIE COOKIE COOKIE!!!!!
WAAAHHHH!!! WHY YOU NO GIVE ME COOKIE?
I thought that there were more cookies in here....
WAAAHHHH!!! WHY YOU NO GIVE ME COOKIE?

Enjoy. I hope that I will be able to put more posts up in a more regular fashion in the future.

Firebelly, Cookiehorn and 'Something hungry, this way comes...'

Greetings,

Here are my current projects.

1) The Cookiehorn.

This beastie can be used for a Thundertusk or a Stonehorn. I have left the back of the Cookiehorn un-glued so that I can switch between the two different types of unit for the model.

'You haz COOKIES!!! Can I haz one?'

 'AAARRRGGGHHH!!!! Mouses etted my COOKIES!'

2) Something hungry this way comes... and the Firebelly

If you are an Ogre player you should know who this guy is meant to be.

  Size comparison with the Firebelly.
Firebelly reverse.
 Firebelly with flash.
 Firebelly without flash.

Something hungry this way comes is going to look like a Cookie Monster dragging a bowl of cookies. I only have a quarter of a pack of Green Stuff, and currently have the flu (thank you Korean children who are unaware that COUGHING OVER CHRISTIAN TEACHER DOESN'T MAKE HIM HAPPY!!!!). I am going to try and get the basic head and top of the torso done tonight.

Enjoy and comments would be nice(please check my rules when you comment though).
