Morkanaut

Greetings,

Here is a follow up on the Morkanaut that was painted a while ago.

Full view of the Morkanaut from the front. He has a similar paint scheme as to my other Orky stuff, so he has a pretty intensive red paint scheme and flames upon the armour plates.

A close up of the upper torso and the head. The flame decals upon the left  shoulder is one of the only ones that I am not a particular fan of. The triple flame doesn't look like it works as much as some of the others.

The skull glyph upon the belly plate was fun to do. The flaming green eyes add a nice spot colour to the front of the model.

Here is a closer look at the flame design added to the Kustom Mega Kannon. It is hard to discern the difference to the red due to the angle of the photo, but it was the flame design that I am the most proud of.

Here is the other side of the head. This is the Cylon-esque head. It isn't as good as the other side of the head though. It needs a jaw to go with it due to the amount of dead space  on the top of the belly plate.

Oh and by the by, the base isn't dealt with due to me not wanting to affix him to a base due to transport and storage issues.

 This post is going  up now instead of tomorrow as I know I am going to have a hell of a week at work. Here are my Killa Kans. They have been working well for me and having 7 walkers in a 1000pts list scares people.

All six of them. There are 2 Rokkits, 2 Grotzookas and 2 Kustom Mega Blastas.

I tried them out using a Imperial Armour 8 Ork Dreadmob 1000pts list yesterday. They died to Ghazghull, but they almost killed him. If it wasn't for a 'Lookout Sir!' he would have died. The FW list allows a lot more Deff Dreads and Kans to be used, but it does allow some changes to the way the normal Ork units are made.

I took these photos on Saturday, so they aren't in their final glory.... well, they haven't been flocked and had some other bits done to them.

WAAAAGH! Da Orks!

Here are all of the Orks that are finally painted. Deff Dread, Battlewagon, 8 Burna Boyz and 5 Boyz. I am currently working on 8 Lootas, which are about 40% done.

All of the non-Boyz units will be getting flame tattoos on them. I first did it so that I could hide my mistakes, but it could be done as an initiation rite or similar for fluff purposes.

Orks at Orctown

Greetings,

This weekend there were a lot of Orks on show that had been painted and converted by the Korean gamers who frequent or work at Orktown.

The first three images are a Skorcha conversionusing the flamestorm turret and fuel canisters from the Baal predator. I did have a very amusing conversation about the practicalities of having a flamer on a fast and unarmoured vehicle. All I could think of is burning Quorn (fungi-based vegan/vegetarian foodstuff) with the Orks being a fungi-based lifeform.

The second model is a conversion that is used for Wazdakka. This guy is absolutely enormous, and he does manage to scare the #%&^ out of any opponent so badly that he is normally the highest priority target.

The final image is of Orks targetting a stunningly painted Night Lords Rhino with lots of Forge World goodies added to it. It has been armies like these, that frequent Orctown, that have made me want to get better at painting.

Hope you like these images. I'll be putting up some more gaming images from the weekend tomorrow. I do need to hit the sack as it is stupid o'clock in the morning here.
