Nurgle Blood Bowl Team

Greetings,

Here is my Nurgle Team. Gloriously draped in a pinkish-purple and a subdued green. I was also playing around with Nurlge's Rot and trying out different skin tones on the Nurgle Blockers.

The box is pretty good. 4 Blockers, 2 Pestigors and 6 Rotters. It is not quite the best fit for the team but it is passable. More Pestigors and Rotters are needed for more flexibility in starting team builds though. In the box you have 4 Blockers, 2 Pestigors, 6 Rotters and 2 Re-Rolls.

Blockers I, II, III and IV. Apologies for the asscracks....

The Pestigors. Uglier and Terrifyingly Gross. They kind of grew into their names...
Mayhaps I used a little too much Nurgle's Rot on these two...

The Rotters. An unlucky bunch of targets...

The markers and coins. A liberal use of Nurgle's Rot on these as well....

These were really quick to paint to be honest. It was also the first time I have used Nurgle's Rot. It is one of the more fun Technical paints to use and also one of the easiest ones to figure out what it looks like while you are still painting it.

Blood Bowl Chaos Chosen

Greetings,

It has been a long time, but I have not been idle. Very much not idle.....

Here is a start to what I hope to be a prolific resurgence of posts. The next dozen or so should just be about my Blood bowl teams. They are all based around a simple colour combination to unify them as a modern sports team would be.

The basic colour scheme is orange, brown, black with silver and brass armour. All GW paints, some getting on to be ancient, some will likely disappear soon.

Icons for the Chaos Chosen and BB coins.
The 4 Chaos Blockers, who don't have block... because reasons... Numbered I, II, III and IV.

The first four goat people. I used a variety of different skin tones on the goat people as in the fluff they are meant to be mutated from human stock. Numbered V, VI, VII and VIII.

The latter four goat people. Numbered IX, X, XI and XII.

The first 12 miniatures are all contained in the plastic team box from GW. You get some variant heads and the build is pretty much what you would want for a starting Chaos Chosen Team.

Then I went a bit silly and bought the Minotaur Big Guy from Forge World. The miniature was really easy to put together, but it did require the gluing of a coin to the bottom of it as there is a hell of a lean in the pose.
He is numbered XVI, but that is mainly because he is unlikely to be used in a regular game as Minotaurs, while fun, are not as predictable as people would like.

I do have the dice as well, but they are currently at work. I Will do a separate post about them soon-ish.
I hope that this will do as a re-entry into blogging again. I am going to set up a better photo booth and play around with my camera functions a bit more to hopefully take better photos.

Fish and Ships

Greetings,

Been having a hell of a busy fortnight at work, hence a lask of posts. I have bee painting though.
Here is my current fleet for Firestorm Armada. My fleet is from the Aquan Sebrutan, and they are fish people... well aquatic sentients at any rate (their species includes whales, dolphins, humanoid water breathers, crabs, lobsters, squid-thingys and more. Just don't mention a smorgasbord...).

The paint scheme is more or less sorted out. The hulls are painted in a variety of purples and greys, and are washed with a purple ink. the weapon crystals are the reddish orange blisters and the engines will be a two tone blue, when I get around to finishing them.

The ships, on the whole, are simple to put together. Unlike most of the other faction fleets, the Aquans are mono-piece. In fact, the only multiple piece vessel that I currently have is Zoidberg.... ahem... the Medusa Class Dreadnought (the big, tentacled monstrosity).

 Fleet overview
Manta Battle Carrier. This is kind of like the Battlestar Galactica
Medusa Dreadnought. This is like the Battlestar Pegasus
Poseidon Battleship. Hits similar to the Manta, but with a much reduced strike craft compliment.
The three vessels on the left are called Stingray Class Destroyers, The central three are Storm Class Cruisers. The three on the right are called Tsunami Class Heavy Cruisers and the six minnows at the front are called Piranha Class Frigates.

The Fleet's basic characteristics is a mass of broadside power from close to medium range, backed up with a mess of torpedos and strike craft. The vessels are pretty fast and they do tend to attack like schools of fish. Swarming their opponent and shooting from every angle.

the only flaw I have with the Aquan ships is that they are rather insubstantial compared to the other races. the Poseidon is 13 and a bit centimeters long, but that pales in comparison to the vessels of the Dindrenzi. The design of the MkI vessels aren't as good as the MkII either. When the starter fleets came out in Orctown all of the other fleets were snapped up quickly, apart from the Aquans. I hope that this will not be a sign of things to come.

Comments are welcome.

Blu'Phin'Tu Na and the Boys.

Greetings,

I had meant to put this up last week, but a hectic teaching schedule and a mess of reports delayed it. Here are all of my current Tau in various stages of painting.

Shas'El Blu'Phin'Tu Na
Squad Sal'Mon
Squad Had'Ok
Riptide Kod
Hammerhead (incl. Longstrike)

The paint scheme is a mix of reds and oranges, using green as a spot colour and purples for the lenses. There is a gold/bronze used for certain areas too.

Comments are welcome.

Rut No Mat Wa RaiZot De!!*

Greetings stinky humans!
This is the future of your worthless, pitiful lives! Death and slavery for the Glory of the Morat Supremacy!!! Oh, and the Evolved Intelligence!

The RaiZot (or Raicho, as it is called by forces from the Human Sphere) is a fairly average TAG. The main weapon is a multi-HMG and then there are two basic variants through a different secondary weapon system. One has a heavy flamer, which is never anything to stick your nose up at. The second has a heavy grenade launcher. Armour 8 and 3 structure points means you can expect similar from other no-frills TAGs in the same weight class. It is a little bit cheaper than similarly armed TAGs of the same weight class, although only by a few points.

The biggest thing it that the Morat Aggression Force can have two in their sectorial force. Taking two would be nice, but you can't have Imetrons in the Morat sectorial, so having two becomes more of a liability than a good idea. Cheap order ONLY happen in other factions.
Lacking in any form of Camouflage or ODD (Optical Disruption Device) means that unless you are hugging cover or hiding in smoke, there are no penalties, barring range, to shoot at you.

It was a pretty simple TAG to throw together though. It did need the arms and legs pinning though. I made a mistake in not attaching the 'puppeteer,' arms on until last. This was a big pain in the proverbial... I was swearing like a sailor in Orctown trying to attach those little blighters!

The biggest issue with the model is that it overhangs the base. A LOT! Similar with the Jotums and Dragoes, it is in dire need of needing a 50mm or a 60mm base and not a metal addition.

Here are some close up shots.

No secondary weapon as I am looking at adding them with a pin and hole method of attachment.

Yes, I am a sad nerd who wrote 'RaiZot' in Morat characters. I think I slightly got the method of writing them mixed up though. It appears that each syllable should be written vertically, top to bottom, instead of horizontally. this way looks prettier though.

I played around with a fireball effect or similar on the barrel of the multi-HMG. It looks better in person than in these photos.

The hair was really easy to do, but it does make me wonder why all of the  Morat have 80's metal hair?

Hope you like it. Comments, as always, are welcome.

HUGE PHOTO ALERT!!! WAB Campaign Turn 2 and the photos I have of turn 3. Part 1

Greetings,

First off I will apologise for the sheer enormity of this post and the mass of photos.

The Remainder of Turn 2

At the end of turn 2 we had a pair of conflicts, both involving the belligerence (or lack thereof) of the Höchster Kaiser der Deutschen (or HK as we know him in real life). His first game was against Hertog van Tsjaad (or Chad in the real world). The Kaiser failed to seize the initiative and the invasion of Hertog van Tsjaad managed to push the Kaiser's forces into retreat.

The second game was between the Kaiser and the forces of Mohammed Gaddafi al Sa'id Ibn Ibn. The Almohad forces, intent upon taking prisoners to work in their multi-storey hotels, smashed into the Kaiser's lines and outmanoeuvred his plodding forces.

HK lost both active field armies so he was forced to create another as his last action of turn 2.

At the end of turn 2 I failed to do my third move as talk of how to make the actions used per campaign turn take a single day to resolve.

Campaign Turn 3

Campaign turn 3 had a few alterations afore we got to the stabby-stabby-killy-killy parts. The Campaign turn phase now has only two actions instead of three, which increased the speed of the turn resolution.

The first game was the glorious forces of the Kaiser invading Hertog van Tsjaad in an attack of REVENGE!!!!! The Kaiser smashed into the forces of the Low Countries. Hertog van Tsjaad and removed the chips and mayonnaise eaters from their land.

A most memorable note from this battle was the heroic actions of the hand gunners. The hand gunners managed to break a unit of Whitehoods and cause a hell of a lot of chaos in the lines of the Low Countries soldiers.
The smiling assassin on the left is the Höchster Kaiser der Deutschen (HK). the guy on the right is the Black Prince of the English Expeditionary Force (me)

After this battle was concluded the forces of the English marched into the Territory of the Almohads. The English deployed in a massive battleline, while the Almohads hid like the cowardly curs that they are.

The Almohads surrendered the initiative  to the English and a re-distribution of English lines brought the cavalry to the fore while the spear armed infantry plodded forward.

On the left is the Black Prince Expeditionary Force (me) arrayed against Mohammed Gaddafi al Sa'id Ibn Ibn (Jude, aka the boss of Orctown)
The Almohad's responded by sending their mercenary Christian shock-cavalry moving to smash into the English lines. Volleys of archer fire were exchanged then the Christian cavalry charged the mounted Men at Arms, who launched a counter charge of their own. After the clash the Christian knights failed to smash through the English knights and they fled the combat not exactly as proudly as they entered it. The English cavalry sauntered after the fleeing knights.

The English cavalry thought that it would be a good idea to charge into a mass of Muslim infantry...
This wasn't such a good idea, but archer fire into the combat weakened the Muslims enough that they were broken and pursued after a protracted combat. The English cavalry managed to pursue past the waiting unit of Black Guard while the archers made the other Muslim units into pin cushions.

The Muslims retreated leaving the English in control of the field.

The third, and final battle of turn three was between the forces of Hertog van Tsjaad and the Almohads. Hertog van Tsjaad invaded the Almohad territory and failed to do anything constructive apart from losing. The Almohads managed to crush the ambitions of the Low Countries with little effort.

All in all the campaign is going much smoother than I had anticipated. Everyone is enjoying the campaign and no one feels as if they are being picked upon or victimised. We have got another three Campaign turns to see if we can keep this optimism up though.

We are already talking about the next campaign. Dark Age Britain or Classical era appears to be the most obvious choices for the players currently.

I will try and get a map image prepped for the next post to you can see the craziness that is the campaign map at the moment.
